I filled with numerous mind-blowing live sets. In this piece, we will take
t’s guaranteed that the year of 2022 will go down in history as one
a trip through memory lane looking back at some of the year’s most
viral live sets that set the world of Electronic Dance music alight and took
over our social media feed for days, weeks and months.

FRED AGAIN - BOILER ROOM

We couldn’t make a list of viral live performances without a well-deserved nod
to Fred Again’s infamous Boiler Room set. Being his debut performance at the
Boiler Room, the set was originally organised to celebrate the release of his now
highly successful track ‘Turn On The Lights’, a collaboration with musical super-
group trio Swedish House Mafia, as well as American rapper Future. Filled to the
brim with Fred Again’s own music and tantalising unreleased ID’s, the perfor-
mance has now amassed over 10 million views on YouTube in just 4 months.

Although taking place back in July, the Boiler Room set still has its impact on the
world of electronic music recently allowing Fred Again to bag the prestigious
BBC Radio 1 ‘Viral Moment of the Year” award. Showcasing unreleased collab-
orations with humungous artists such as Jamie xx and Skrillex, the viral set
allowed a spotlight to shine on Fred Again then-upcoming album Actual Life 3
which has found itself as one of the biggest album releases of the year.
