ew artists in electronic music have shaped melodic
bass quite like Seven Lions. From his early genre-defying
productions to the expansive worlds built across releases like
“Beyond the Veil” and “Asleep in the Garden of Infernal Stars”,
Jeff Montalvo has continuously pushed beyond the boundaries
Fof dance music while maintaining a sound unmistakably his
own. Now, with the release of “The Dreams Strange and Eternal”, Seven Lions
enters another chapter. One that bridges the past, present, and future of his
artistic vision. Amidst of massive headline performances at Red Rocks and
San Francisco’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, we sat down with the Ophelia
Records founder to discuss evolution, worldbuilding, genre fluidity, and what
still drives him after more than a decade at the forefront of electronic music.

“I go wherever the song takes me. I don’t

really worry about genres too much.”
